Stephen Gregoratto 6216922a9d Linux: Nuke Stat bits in favour of statx
Maintaining the POSIX `stat` bits for Zig is a pain. The order and
bit-length of members differ between all architectures, and int types
can be signed or unsigned. The libcs deal with this by introducing the
own version of `struct stat` and copying the kernel structure members to
it. In the case of glibc, they did it twice thanks to the largefile
transition!

In practice, the project needs to maintain three versions of `struct
stat`:
- What the kernel defines.
- What musl wants for `struct stat`.
- What glibc wants for `struct stat64`. Make sure to use `fstatat64`!

This isn't as simple as running `zig translate-c`. In #21440 I had to:
- Compile toolchains for each arch+glibc/musl combo.
- Create a test `fstat` program with/without `FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64`.
- Dump the value for `struct stat`.
- Stare at `std.os.linux`/`std.c` and cry.
- Add some missing padding.

The fact that so many target checks in the `linux` and `posix` tests
exist is most likely due to writing to padding bits and failing later.

The solution to this madness is `statx(2)`:
- It takes a single structure that is the same for all arches AND libcs.
- It uses a custom timestamp format, but it is 64-bit ready.
- It gives the same info as `fstatat(2)` and more!
- Unlike `fstatat(2)`, you can request a subset of the info required
  based on passing a mask.

It's so good that modern Linux arches (e.g. riscv) don't even implement
`stat`, with the libcs using a generic `struct stat` and copying from
`struct statx`.

Therefore, this commit rips out all the `stat` bits from `std.os.linux`
and `std.c`. `std.posix.Stat` is now `void`, and calling
`std.posix.*stat` is an compile-time error. A wrapper around `statx` has
been added to `std.os.linux`, and callers have been upgraded to use it.
Tests have also been updated to use `statx` where possible.

While I was here, I converted the mask and file attributes to be packed
struct bitfields. A nice side effect is checking that you actually
recieved the members you asked for via `Statx.mask`, which I have used
by adding `assert`s at specific callsites.

Pat Tullmann 89d15a8d47 linux: futex v2 API updates
* `futex2_waitv` always takes a 64-bit timespec.  Perhaps the
  `kernel_timespec` should be renamed `timespec64`?  Its used in iouring,
  too.

* Add `packed struct` for futex v2 flags and parameters.

* Add very basic "tests" for the futex v2 syscalls (just to ensure the
  code compiles).

* Update the stale or broken comments.  (I could also just delete these
  they're not really documenting Zig-specific behavior.)

Given that the futex2 APIs are not used by Zig's library (they're a bit
too new), and the fact that these are very specialized syscalls, and they
currently provide no benefit over the existing v1 API, I wonder if instead
of fixing these up, we should just replace them with a stub that says 'use
a 3rd party library'.

Pat Tullmann cfe5defd02 linux: futex v1 API cleanup
* Use `packed struct` for flags arguments.  So, instead of
  `linux.FUTEX.WAIT` use `.{ .cmd = .WAIT, .private = true }`

* rename `futex_wait` and `futex_wake` which didn't actually specify
  wait/wake, as `futex_3arg` and `futex_4arg` (as its the number
  of parameters that is different, the `op` is whatever is specified.

* expose the full six-arg flavor of the syscall (for some of the advanced
  ops), and add packed structs for their arguments.

* Use a `packed union` to support the 4th parameter which is sometimes a
  `timespec` pointer, and sometimes a `u32`.

* Add tests that make sure the structure layout is correct and that the
  basic argument passing is working (no actual futexes are contended).

Pat Tullmann 120c4789c3 sigset_t: sigemptyset() and sigfillset() are functions that return sigset_t
By returning an initialized sigset (instead of taking the set as an output
parameter), these functions can be used to directly initialize the `mask`
parameter of a `Sigaction` instance.

Pat Tullmann 298b1886b2 std.os.linux: export kernel-sized sigset_t and operations
The kernel ABI sigset_t is smaller than the glibc one.  Define the
right-sized sigset_t and fixup the sigaction() wrapper to leverage it.
The Sigaction wrapper here is not an ABI, so relax it (drop the "extern"
and the "restorer" fields), the existing `k_sigaction` is the ABI
sigaction struct.

Linux defines `sigset_t` with a c_ulong, so it can be 32-bit or 64-bit,
depending on the platform.  This can make a difference on big-endian
systems.

Patch up `ucontext_t` so that this change doesn't impact its layout.
AFAICT, its currently the glibc layout.

Pat Tullmann 4b63f94b4e Fix sigaddset/sigdelset bit-fiddling math
The code was using u32 and usize interchangably, which doesn't work on
64-bit systems.  This:
  `pub const sigset_t = [1024 / 32]u32;`
is not consistent with this:
  `const shift = @as(u5, @intCast(s & (usize_bits - 1)));`

However, normal signal numbers are less than 31, so the bad math doesn't matter much.  Also, despite support for 1024 signals in the set, only setting signals between 1 and NSIG (which is mostly 65, but sometimes 128) is defined.  The existing tests only exercised signal numbers in the first 31 bits so they didn't trip over this:

The C library `sigaddset` will return `EINVAL` if given an out of bounds signal number.  I made the Zig code just silently ignore any out of bounds signal numbers.

Moved all the `sigset` related declarations next to each in the source, too.

The `filled_sigset` seems non-standard to me.  I think it is meant to be used like `empty_sigset`, but it only contains 31 set signals, which seems wrong (should be 64 or 128, aka `NSIG`).  It's also unused.  The oddly named but similar `all_mask` is used (by posix.zig) but sets all 1024 bits (which I understood to be undefined behavior but seems to work just fine).  For comparison the musl `sigfillset` fills in 65 bits or 128 bits.

Andrew Kelley e8c4e79499 std.c reorganization
It is now composed of these main sections:
* Declarations that are shared among all operating systems.
* Declarations that have the same name, but different type signatures
  depending on the operating system. Often multiple operating systems
  share the same type signatures however.
* Declarations that are specific to a single operating system.
  - These are imported one per line so you can see where they come from,
    protected by a comptime block to prevent accessing the wrong one.

Closes #19352 by changing the convention to making types `void` and
functions `{}`, so that it becomes possible to update `@hasDecl` sites
to use `@TypeOf(f) != void` or `T != void`. Happily, this ended up
removing some duplicate logic and update some bitrotted feature
detection checks.

A handful of types have been modified to gain namespacing and type
safety. This is a breaking change.

Oh, and the last usage of `usingnamespace` site is eliminated.

mlugg 265f42d472 std.os.linux: rework io_uring support
* `linux.IO_Uring` -> `linux.IoUring` to align with naming conventions.
* All functions `io_uring_prep_foo` are now methods `prep_foo` on `io_uring_sqe`, which is in a file of its own.
* `SubmissionQueue` and `CompletionQueue` are namespaced under `IoUring`.

This is a breaking change.

The new file and namespace layouts are more idiomatic, and allow us to
eliminate one more usage of `usingnamespace` from the standard library.

* 3 fewer uses of usingnamespace keyword
* as per convention, remove purposeless field prefixes from struct field
  names even if they have those prefixes in the corresponding C code.
* fix incorrect wasi libc Stat definition
* remove C definitions from incorrectly being in std.os.wasi
* make std.os.wasi definitions type safe
* go through wasi native APIs even when linking libc because the libc
  APIs are problematic and wasteful
* don't expose WASI definitions in std.posix
* remove std.os.wasi.rights_t.ALL: this is a footgun. should it be all
  future rights too? or only all current rights known? both are
  the wrong answer.

mlugg f26dda2117 all: migrate code to new cast builtin syntax
Most of this migration was performed automatically with `zig fmt`. There
were a few exceptions which I had to manually fix:

* `@alignCast` and `@addrSpaceCast` cannot be automatically rewritten
* `@truncate`'s fixup is incorrect for vectors
* Test cases are not formatted, and their error locations change

Andrew Kelley d29871977f remove redundant license headers from zig standard library
We already have a LICENSE file that covers the Zig Standard Library. We
no longer need to remind everyone that the license is MIT in every single
file.

Previously this was introduced to clarify the situation for a fork of
Zig that made Zig's LICENSE file harder to find, and replaced it with
their own license that required annual payments to their company.
However that fork now appears to be dead. So there is no need to
reinforce the copyright notice in every single file.

Andrew Kelley a98fa56ae9 std: [breaking] move errno to become an nonexhaustive enum
The primary purpose of this change is to eliminate one usage of
`usingnamespace` in the standard library - specifically the usage for
errno values in `std.os.linux`.

This is accomplished by truncating the `E` prefix from error values, and
making errno a proper enum.

A similar strategy can be used to eliminate some other `usingnamespace`
sites in the std lib.

Andreas Linz 7e63f7ad03 Truncate user and group ids for 64 bit Linux systems (#7466)
* Truncate user and group ids

Calls to `getuid`, `getgid` and their `eid` variants fail to compile on
64bit Linux systems because the return value of the syscall is of
`usize` and needs to be truncated to fit the size of `uid_t` that is 32
bit.

Thanks to @FireFox317 for figuring this out in Zig's Discord channel!

* Add a regression test for user and group ids

* Replace @truncate with @intCast

This should be safe because `uid_t` will be 32-bit.
