compiler: Print valid `-Zmir-enable-passes` names if invalid name is used

If a user passes an invalid name to `-Zmir-enable-passes`, print the valid names as a note.

To avoid the annoyance of having to keep blessing test output, completely normalize away the list of names in the test.

The diagnostic is duplicated, but that is not introduced by this commit. In other words, we don't make matters worse. The existing "is unknown and will be ignored" diagnostic is already duplicated, as can be seen in the existing test stderr.

The output is on one long line, but that makes normalization in tests easier, and I don't think we have to overdo this. We can let terminals wrap the line.

Stabilize `if let` guards (`feature(if_let_guard)`)



## Summary

This proposes the stabilization of `if let` guards (tracking issue: rust-lang/rust#51114, RFC: rust-lang/rfcs#2294). This feature allows `if let` expressions to be used directly within match arm guards, enabling conditional pattern matching within guard clauses.

## What is being stabilized

The ability to use `if let` expressions within match arm guards.

Example:

## Motivation

The primary motivation for `if let` guards is to reduce nesting and improve readability when conditional logic depends on pattern matching. Without this feature, such logic requires nested `if let` statements within match arms:

### Drop Order and Temporaries

**Key insight:** Unlike `let_chains` in regular `if` expressions, `if let` guards do not have drop order inconsistencies because:
1. Match guards are clearly scoped to their arms
2. There is no "else block" equivalent that could cause temporal confusion

## Edition Compatibility

This feature stabilizes on all editions, unlike `let chains` which was limited to edition 2024. This is safe because:

1. `if let` guards don't suffer from the drop order issues that affected `let chains` in regular `if` expressions
2. The scoping is unambiguous - guards are clearly tied to their match arms
3. Extensive testing confirms identical behavior across all editions

## Interactions with Future Features

The lang team has reviewed potential interactions with planned "guard patterns" and determined that stabilizing `if let` guards now does not create obstacles for future work. The scoping and evaluation semantics established here align with what guard patterns will need.

Unify wording of resolve error

Remove "failed to resolve" from the main error message and use the same format we use in other resolution errors "cannot find `name`":

The intent behind this is to end up with all resolve errors eventually be on the form of

A category of errors that is interest are those that involve keywords. For example:

For these the label provides the actual help, while the message is less informative beyond telling you "couldn't find `name`".

`c_variadic`: Add future-incompatibility warning for `...` arguments without a pattern outside of `extern` blocks

This PR makes `...` arguments without a pattern in non-foreign functions (such as the argument in `unsafe extern "C" fn f(...) {}`) a future-compatibility warning; making this error would be consistent with how `unsafe extern "C" fn f(u32) {}` is handled. Allowing `...` arguments without a pattern in non-foreign functions is a source of confusion for programmers coming from C, where the `...` parameter is never named and instead calling `va_start` is required; disallowing `...` arguments without a pattern also improves the overall consistency of the Rust language by matching the treatment of other arguments without patterns. `...` arguments without a pattern in `extern` blocks (such as `unsafe extern "C" { fn f(...); }`) continue to compile without warnings after this PR, as they are already stable and heavily used (and don't cause the mentioned confusion as they are just being used in function declarations).

As all the syntax gating for `c_variadic` has been done post-expansion, this is technically a breaking change. In particular, code like this has compiled on stable since Rust 1.35.0:

#[cfg(any())] // Equivalent to the more recent #[cfg(false)]
unsafe extern "C" fn bar(_: u32, ...) {}
```
Since this is more or less a stability hole and a Crater run shows only the `binrw` crate is using this, I think it would be ok to break this. This will require a lang FCP.

The idea of rejecting `...` pre-expansion was first raised here https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/pull/143546#issuecomment-3043142052.

Methodology:

1. Refer to the previously written `tests/ui/SUMMARY.md`
2. Find an appropriate category for the test, using the original issue thread and the test contents.
3. Add the issue URL at the bottom (not at the top, as that would mess up stderr line numbers)
4. Rename the tests to make their purpose clearer

Inspired by the methodology that Kivooeo was using.

This reverts commit 1eeb8e8b15, reversing
changes made to 324bf2b9fd.

Unfortunately the assert desugaring change is not backwards compatible,
see RUST-145770.

Code such as

```rust

impl std::ops::Not for F {
  type Output = bool;
  fn not(self) -> Self::Output { !self.data }
}

fn main() {
  let f = F { data: true };

  assert!(f);

```

would be broken by the assert desugaring change. We may need to land
the change over an edition boundary, or limit the editions that the
desugaring change impacts.

Improve C-variadic error messages: part 2

a reimplementation of https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/pull/143546 that builds on https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/pull/146165.

This PR

- disallows coroutines (e.g. `async fn`) from having a `...` argument
- disallows associated functions (both in traits and standard impl blocks) from having a `...` argument
- splits up a generic "ill-formed C-variadic function" into specific errors about using an incorrect ABI, not specifying an ABI, or missing the unsafe keyword

C-variadic coroutines probably don't make sense? C-variadic functions are for FFI purposes, combining that with async functions seems weird.

For associated functions, we're just cutting scope. It's probably fine, but it's probably better to explicitly allow it. So for now, at least give a more targeted error message.

Samuel Tardieu 323e23005a Fix ICE when validating transmuting ZST to inhabited enum
MIR validation attempts to determine the number of bytes needed to
represent the size of the source type to compute the discriminant for
the inhabited target enum. For a ZST source, there is no source data to
use as a discriminant so no proper runtime check can be generated.

Since that should never be possible, insert a delayed bug to ensure the
problem has been properly reported to the user by the type checker.

Trevor Gross 289fe36d37 Print thread ID in panic message if thread name is unknown
`panic!` does not print any identifying information for threads that are
unnamed. However, in many cases, the thread ID can be determined.

This changes the panic message from something like this:

    thread '<unnamed>' panicked at src/main.rs:3:5:
    explicit panic

To something like this:

    thread '<unnamed>' (0xff9bf) panicked at src/main.rs:3:5:
    explicit panic

Stack overflow messages are updated as well.

This change applies to both named and unnamed threads. The ID printed is
the OS integer thread ID rather than the Rust thread ID, which should
also be what debuggers print.

Add `ignore-backends` annotations in failing GCC backend ui tests

Follow-up of https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/pull/144125.

In the GCC backend, we don't support all ui tests yet and we have a list of tests we currently ignore available [here](https://github.com/rust-lang/rustc_codegen_gcc/blob/master/tests/failing-ui-tests.txt).

This PR adds the `ignore-backends` annotations to the corresponding ui tests.

The second commit is a fix to compiletest, complaining about `ignore-backends`.
